Madison Avenue Baptist Church is an American Baptist congregation in midtown Manhattan, but it’s not the “Baptist Church” people expect.
In 1848, there was a section in Manhattan called Rose Hill, famous for its flowers, summer residences, and many stately homes. It was here that the Rev. S. S. Wheeler organized the Rose Hill Baptist Church, now the Madison Avenue Baptist Church.
